Steady Support for Men, Couples, and Family Life

Practical, grounded therapy in San Antonio and across Texas for those dealing with stress, relationship patterns, family pressure, and the challenge of trying to hold it all together.

navigating daily liFe

As a therapist, husband, and father of two adopted children, I understand the joys and challenges that come with family life and partnership, and how love and responsibility can be both deeply meaningful and deeply demanding at the same time.

When You’re Carrying a Lot

Most people are not looking for therapy because they are broken. They are looking because life has gotten heavy.

It is common to be carrying a lot at once: trying to stay patient with family, show up in relationships, keep up at work, manage stress, and still have something left at the end of the day. Even deeply caring people can start to feel more reactive, distant, overwhelmed, or worn down than they want to admit.

I understand that kind of pressure. Not just professionally, but personally. Therapy can give you space to step back, understand what is happening underneath the surface, and find a steadier way forward.

How therapy helps

All of my clients are good people doing their best. They are responsible, thoughtful, hard-working, and deeply committed to the people they love. But that does not mean life feels easy.

The couples I work with care deeply about their relationships, but communication has become harder. The love is there, but tension can sometimes build where it seems like small things can turn into big things. The same potholes show up, leaving you both feeling less connected than you want to be.

You might be here because:

You are carrying a lot and do not know how to slow your mind down

Work stress keeps following you home

You feel pressure to keep it together, even when you are overwhelmed

You and your partner keep having the same conversation without getting anywhere

You care about your family, but feel less patient, less present, or less like yourself lately

You are navigating the added complexity that can come with adoption, blended family life, or shifting family roles

You want support, but do not want therapy to feel cold, vague, or overly clinical

About Steve

Hi, I’m Steve Reynolds, LPC. I’ve been a therapist since 2013, and I care deeply about helping people build more solid, connected, and workable lives. I especially enjoy working with men who are trying to manage stress, anxiety, pressure, and relationship struggles without losing themselves in the process.

I’m also a husband and father of two adopted children, so I understand that family life is meaningful, rewarding, and sometimes incredibly complicated. I know that love and responsibility often go hand in hand with stress, sacrifice, and the ongoing challenge of trying to show up well for the people who matter most.

Many of the men I work with are thoughtful, capable people who are doing a lot right, but still feel stuck. They may not want overly clinical therapy or endless talking in circles. They want a space where they can be real, think clearly, and figure out what actually helps.

I also work with couples who care about their relationship and want support getting through rough patches, communication breakdowns, and the wear and tear of everyday life. My role is not to take sides or blame either person. My role is to help you understand what is happening, reconnect as a team, and move forward with more clarity.

I don’t believe in fixing people. I believe in helping people reconnect with their inner compass so they can feel more at home in their own life, body, and relationships.

My Approach

Grounded in how stress and relationships shape us. My work is informed by the ways stress, past experiences, and relationship dynamics affect how we communicate, cope, and respond to the people we love.

Focused on what is underneath. Together, we look beyond surface problems to understand the patterns driving anxiety, conflict, disconnection, and shutdown.

Relational and insight-oriented. Therapy helps make sense of how your internal world, relationships, and life experiences interact so that change feels meaningful and lasting.

Practical in everyday life. Insight matters most when it helps you feel more steady, communicate more clearly, and respond with greater intention.

Clients often describe sessions as clarifying, grounding, and useful in real life.
